SEM as a company was incorporated in 1914. However documentary evidence exists to show that electric rotating equipment was being produced at the turn of the century by its founder Henry F Joel. Over the last 40 years SEM has focused on the design and manufacture of high performance servomotors gaining a world renowned reputation.
SEM specialises in the field of motor technology and does not produce inverters or any kind of control electronics. This is seen as a positive advantage by SEM’s customers, many of whom manufacture or distribute associated motor drive electronics and control systems.
